SUKKUR: A delegation of the Pakistan-Türkiye Friendship Forum (DOST Forum) met Turkish Ambassador Dr. Irfan Neziroglu in Islamabad where both sides agreed to enhance joint cooperation in education, culture, trade and research. According to a news release issued here on Saturday, the delegation included DOST Forum President Dr. Farooq Adil, Shah Abdul Latif University VC Prof. Dr. Yousuf Khushk, Yunus Emre Institute Country Director Prof. Dr. Halil Toker, and DOST Forum Secretary General Dr. Zahid Majeed. The talks focused on collaboration in education, joint research, scholarships, trade, cultural exchanges, tourism and people-to-people contacts. Ambassador Neziroglu stressed deepening historic ties and proposed joint film productions on shared history, including the Khilafat Movement. He also called for stronger academic linkages and more frequent delegation exchanges. He said Pakistan and Türkiye would jointly mark the 150th birth anniversary of Allama Iqbal and the 500th anniversary of the Mughal Empire’s founding. Prof. Dr. Khushk highlighted the role of educational and cultural diplomacy in promoting peace and development. Dr. Khushk presented a traditional Sindhi Ajrak to the ambassador, while Dr. Adil presented his travelogue on Türkiye.
