Strong winds, rains claim four lives in KP: PDMA

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reported multiple casualties following incidents of roof and wall collapses caused by strong winds and rain across the province.
According to a PDMA spokesperson, at least four people, including two men, one woman and a child, lost their lives, while 16 others sustained injuries in separate incidents.
The injured include eight men, seven children and one woman. The incidents were reported from different districts, including Mardan, Swabi, Malakand and Shangla.
The PDMA stated that district administrations and relevant departments have been placed on alert and are maintaining close coordination to manage the situation and provide timely relief to affected families.
Authorities have also been directed to expedite rescue and relief efforts in the impacted areas. The PDMA warned that the ongoing spell of rain and strong winds is expected to continue intermittently until May 12.
The authority added that its Emergency Operation Centre remains fully functional, and the public has been advised to report emergencies or incidents on helpline 1700.
