President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have paid tribute to brave citizen Liaqat who sacrificed his life at the inter-provincial area of Jand and Khushal Garh Bridge near Kohat to save the local population from a major disaster.
In their separate statements, they said the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with law enforcement agencies to eradicate menace of terrorism.
The President said courageous citizens like Shaheed Liaqat are a shining example of national resilience, patriotism and collective consciousness against terrorism.
The Prime Minister said that as a responsible citizen, Liaqat confronted the terrorist and asked for his identity. Upon being questioned, the terrorist detonated himself and Liaqat embraced martyrdom.
He said that Liaqat’s sacrifice serves as a guiding light for every member of the nation.
Shehbaz Sharif said that the nation will never forget the sacrifice of Shaheed Liaqat, emphasizing that brave citizens like him are an invaluable asset to Pakistan. He prayed for the elevation of Shaheed Liaqat’s status and for patience and fortitude for his family.
