CTD Martyred constable laid to rest with state honour in Landi Kotal

Funeral prayers of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) constable Asim Khan, who embraced martyrdom after being shot by unidentified armed assailants within the jurisdiction of Landi Kotal Police Station were offered with full state honours at Police Lines, Shahkas, Jamrud tehsil of Khyber on Thursday night and later at Masjid Zakria in Landi Kotal at 10:30am on Friday.
Senior police officials including District Police Officer (DPO), Khyber Waqar Ahmad, Deputy Inspector General (DIG), CTD Umair Tufail, Senior Superintendent Police, Khyber Najam-ul-Hasnain, Superintendent Police (SP) Rahim Ullah and SP, CTD Badshah Hazrat attended the funeral prayers along with relatives of the martyr and a large number of police officers and personnel.
A smart police contingent presented a guard of honor to the fallen officer, while senior officials laid floral wreaths on the coffin of the martyr.
Special prayers were also offered for the departed soul and for peace and stability in the country.
Later on Friday morning the Shaheed CTD soldier was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard.
Speaking on the occasion, police officials expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and paid rich tribute to Shaheed Asim Khan, describing him as a brave, dutiful and fearless officer who remained on the frontline against criminals and anti-state elements.
Officials said the sacrifices of martyrs would always be remembered and termed Shaheed Asim Khan’s sacrifice a matter of pride for both Khyber Police and the CTD.
Earlier, CTD constable Asim Khan was shot and killed by undisclosed armed persons in front of his home at Zakria, Majid area of Khuga Khel, Landi Kotal on Thursday.
