PM’s Matric-Tech Initiative witnesses rise in admissions for 2026-27

The Prime Minister’s Matric-Tech Initiative launched under Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has witnessed a significant increase in admissions for the academic session 2026-27, highlighting rising interest among students in technical and skill-based education.
According to the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) on Saturday, admissions under the programme increased from 772 to 1,617 students, reflecting the success of the newly launched initiative.
The programme offers a range of practical and industry-oriented courses designed to equip students with modern technical expertise and better career opportunities.
These courses include IoT and Data Coding, Fashion Designing, Professional Chef, Industrial Electrician, Plumbing & Solar Systems, along with Hotel Management & Beauty Services.
Officials said the initiative is intended to provide hands-on training and prepare students for future careers through market-relevant education and skill development
