Governor, KP distributes relief cheques among affected families of Khyber, Kurram

Relief cheques were distributed among affected families of Khyber and Kurram districts in a ceremony held at the Governor House, Peshawar on Sunday.
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Faisal Karim Kundi given away the cheques provided by the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) among affected families from the two districts.
Speaking on the occasion, the governor said that Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) was playing a vital role in relief operations in Khyber and Kurram districts.
Despite the deteriorating law and order situation in the merged districts, relief teams continued to provide services in difficult conditions, he added.
He praised the efforts of PRCS volunteers and field staff, saying they were actively engaged in humanitarian activities despite limited resources and challenging circumstances.
He added that along with financial support, food items and other essential goods were also being distributed among the affected people, while efforts were continuing to assist every deserving family despite limited facilities and resources.
It is to be stated here that financial assistance of Rs38, 000 per family from PRCS was being provided to more than 1,700 affected families in Khyber district and over 1,000 families in Kurram district.
