Kohat: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Aftab Alam has directed authorities to expedite the completion of a flood protection wall in the flood-hit Paya Jawaki area of Dara Adam Khel, stressing that the project must meet quality standards and be completed within the stipulated timeframe. During his visit to the under-construction protection wall in Khanawat, Shah Khel, the Minister received a briefing from officials on the project’s progress, construction quality and safety measures. He said the scheme was essential to protecting local communities, agricultural land and public infrastructure from future flood damage. Later, Alam visited the family of a mother and daughter who were expured in a recent flash flood in Paya Jawaki. He expressed his condolences, offered prayers for the deceased and prayed for strength and patience for the bereaved family. The Minister assured the family of the provincial government’s full support, saying all available resources were being mobilized for the rehabilitation of flood-affected communities and the timely completion of flood mitigation projects. our correspondent
