Exploration, banks, autos and energy stocks lead broad-based buying, geopolitical developments support sentiment

The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) turned bullish on Wednesday, gaining 464.53 points, a positive change of 0.26 percent, to close at 180,311.22 points against 179,846.68 points recorded in the previous trading session.
The ready market witnessed a trading volume of 744.237 million shares, compared to 860.262 million shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value decreased to Rs32.193 billion from Rs38.862 billion. Market capitalisation increased to Rs20.177 trillion from Rs20.142 trillion recorded a day earlier.
Out of 491 companies that traded in the ready market, 249 posted gains, 211 suffered losses, while 31 remained unchanged, reflecting a positive trend across the market.
Cnergyico PK led the volume chart with 67.754 million shares, followed by D.S. Industries Limited with 67.531 million shares and Hascol Petroleum with 47.270 million shares.
Among the top gainers, PIA Holding Company LimitedB surged by Rs98.33 to close at Rs17,450.00, while Ghandhara Industries Limited advanced by Rs43.25 to settle at Rs1,282.25.
On the losing side, Blessed Textiles Limited declined by Rs45.95 to close at Rs935.41, while Sapphire Textile Mills Limited fell by Rs45.47 to Rs1,447.72.
In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 126.621 million shares with a traded value of Rs7.332 billion, compared with 193.741 million shares worth Rs9.703 billion in
the previous session.
Of the 317 companies traded in the DFC market, 192 advanced, 124 declined and one remained unchanged.
