ISLAMABAD: In an era where global challenges increasingly demand international cooperation, universities are emerging as important platforms for building bridges among nations through knowledge, research, and innovation. Reflecting this vision, a high-level delegation from Ghana visited Riphah International University, Islamabad, to explore opportunities for academic collaboration, research partnerships, and institutional linkages between Pakistan and Ghana.
The visit marked an important step towards strengthening educational relations between the two countries, with discussions focusing on expanding cooperation in higher education, healthcare education, faculty engagement, student opportunities, and joint research initiatives.
The Ghanaian delegation, comprising senior representatives from higher education institutions, was welcomed by officials of Riphah International University. During their visit, the delegation engaged with the university leadership and explored Riphah’s academic ecosystem, professional programmes, research initiatives, and healthcare facilities.
The meetings provided a platform for meaningful discussions on areas of mutual interest, including academic partnerships, exchange programmes, research collaboration, and sharing of institutional experiences. Both sides expressed their commitment to exploring sustainable mechanisms for cooperation that could benefit students, faculty members, and researchers.
A highlight of the visit was an official dinner hosted by Riphah International University Chancellor Mr. Hassan Muhammad Khan in honour of the visiting Ghanaian delegation. The event was attended by senior university leadership, including academic and administrative officials, and served as an opportunity for further dialogue in a cordial and professional environment.
Speaking on the occasion, university officials emphasized that international partnerships are essential for advancing the quality and reach of higher education. They highlighted the importance of collaboration in creating opportunities for innovation, knowledge exchange, and joint academic ventures.
Chancellor Hassan Muhammad Khan has consistently emphasized the importance of expanding Riphah’s international footprint through meaningful partnerships with universities and institutions across the world. The engagement with the Ghanaian delegation reflects the university’s broader commitment to strengthening global academic connections.
As part of the visit, the delegation toured various Riphah campuses and facilities, including academic departments and healthcare institutions, gaining insight into the university’s educational infrastructure, professional training programmes, and research environment. The visits provided the guests with an overview of Riphah’s contributions in medical education, dental education, allied health sciences, and other academic disciplines.
The interaction between the Ghanaian delegation and Riphah’s academic leadership is expected to pave the way for future cooperation in areas such as faculty and student exchange, collaborative research projects, capacity building, and development of academic programmes.
The visit comes at a time when Pakistan is actively seeking stronger educational partnerships with countries around the world, particularly through higher education diplomacy and knowledge-based cooperation.
