A ceremony was held at Government Graduate College for Women, Farooq Colony, Sargodha, under the supervision of Principal Madam Muntaha, in honour of the college’s athletics team and their coach, Madam Sabaahat Baloch, following their outstanding performance at the provincial level here on Monday.
According to details, students of Government Graduate College for Women, Farooq Colony, Sargodha, demonstrated exceptional performance in the Third Sports Events organized under the ADP/BS Higher Education Department, securing several gold, silver and bronze medals.
The college team secured first position in athletics at the provincial level, while Rabab Shakeel was declared “Athlete of the Year 2026” for her outstanding performance.In the 100-metre race, Maryam Shehzadi won a gold medal, while Rabab Shakeel secured a gold medal in the 800-metre race.
In the 4×100-metre relay race, Rabab Shakeel, Areeja Iman, Sania Kausar and Maryam Shehzadi won gold medals. Rabab Shakeel won a silver medal in the 1500-metre race, while Maryam Shehzadi secured silver in the 400-metre race.
In other events, Alia Tabassum won a bronze medal in javelin throw, while Maryam Shehzadi secured bronze in the high jump. She also finished fourth in the long jump competition.
The Principal Government Graduate College for Women, Farooq Colony, Sargodha, Madam Muntaha congratulated Coach Madam Sabaahat Baloch and the entire team on their remarkable achievement. She said the success was the result of the students’ hard work, dedication and outstanding sporting abilities. She added that their achievement had brought honour to the institution and would encourage other students to actively participate and excel in sports.
