Prevailing peace is result of Patriotism of Tribals: Jhagra

Peshawar:The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Eng. Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said, the prevailing peace and stability in the country is the result of the selfless spirit of patriotism of the tribal people and beyond doubt the immortal sacrifices of the jawans and officers of Pak Army, security forces and the respective people are the proud assets of the nation .for making this possible.
This, he has stated, while addressing a representative jirga of Mahsud, Ahmadzai, Doatani and Suleman Khel tribes of South Waziristan Agency at Wana as well as the parents day ceremony of the Wana Cadet College on Thursday. Khalid Javed, Commissioner, DI Khan Division, Political Agency, South Waziristan Agency and a large number of tribal elders were present on this occasio
The Governor while appreciating the remarkable performance of cadets said that qualifying of commissions for stepping in Pak Army, Pak Navy and PAF by a visible number of cadets graduated from the college in a short span of time is a visible proof of it. While referring to the reservation of 50% seats for the local students, the Governor said, it is meant to offer maximum opportunities to the tribal people to contribute at the national level for development of the country
During his one day visit to the South Waziristan Agency, the Governor also formally inaugurated newly completed five irrigational projects which also included a small dam at Shinkanj. He also inaugurated a number of other projects including a model school on this occasion. While referring to the importance of the irrigational projects, the Governor said, these would irrigate almost 15,000 acres of cultivable land which will greatly help to improve the socio-economic life of the people. `—
The Governor also announced approval to up-grade the Technical Institute, Wana to the level of a full-fledged Technical college. He also directed the concerned authorities to take immediate steps for ensuring re-construction of damaged houses; rehabilitation of affected people and completion of the remaining damaged houses at the earliest.
