Islamabad (Online): The Supreme Court on Monday has adjourned the petition filed for the imposition of ban on Pakistani movie “Malik” for one week.
A three-member bench of apex court headed by Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed conducted the hearing of the petition.
During the course of the hearing, head of the bench has observed that when censor board has issued permission then what is the problem just now adding that if members of the censor board are eligible, they should be changed. Board members did not witness the good movie except Punjabi movie “Chan Makhna”.
“Irani movies get the award of appreciation across the globe. If these movies were seen to Pakistani censor board as ban could be imposed adding that a public servant has made movie on government departments which is sponsored by federal government”, Justice Saeed added.
The public prosecutor has informed the apex court that an objectionable matter is discussed in the movie about judiciary.
On this Justice Azmat Saeed said that anti-judiciary debate is done in every talk show. These talk shows should be closed first. In the movie CPEC is also targeted as this project is discussed on electronic media whole day.
The head of the bench inquired why the scene of assassination of former Governor Salman Taseer was seen by you first.
The court has directed the Faroogh Nasim, counsel of producer of movie Ashar Azeem to appear before the court on next hearing.
The court further said that if Faroogh Nasim did not appear on next hearing as the verdict would be announced after hearing the arguments of public prosecutor.
Later, the court has adjourned the hearing of the case for one week.
