Awami National Party Central President Senator Aimal Wali Khan called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif here and discussed the country’s overall political situation along with pressing governance issues.
According to an ANP statement, the meeting focused in detail on the deteriorating law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Senator Wali expressed concern over the worsening conditions in the two provinces and stressed the need for effective and serious measures to establish lasting peace.
He also briefed the prime minister on the strong public anxiety over the federal government’s decision to impose taxes in the Malakand Division and the merged districts.
The ANP leader urged that the concerns of the people of these areas be taken into account, and called for a review of the decision to restore public confidence.
Senator Wali further apprised the prime minister of the absence of key diagnostic facilities, including MRI and CT scan machines, at the District Headquarters Hospital in Charsadda and the difficulties faced by patients as a result.
Taking note of the matter, Prime Mini ster Shehbaz Sharif approved the immediate provision of MRI and CT scan machines for the hospital and directed the relevant authorities to take necessary steps.
