NAB’s Anti-corruption Strategy proved successful : Chairman

ISLAMABAD: Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, Chairman NAB chaired a meeting to review NAB’s Anti-Corruption Strategy especially
progress on the Awareness and Prevention country-wide campaign on” SAY NO TO CORRUPTION”lunched throughout the country at NAB Headquarter.
He said that NAB has been engaging different Governmental, Non-Governmental Organizations, Civil Society, media and other segments of society in its
campaign on “SAY NO TO CORRUPTION” which has started yielding positive results and will continue in 2016 with full swing in order to aware
people about the ill effects of corruption.
He said as per the feedback received from various segments of society, NAB’s Awareness and Prevention campaign on “SAY NO TO CORRUPTION” had been
effectively and positively highlighted in print and electronic media throughout the country which has appreciated by all segments of society. He said
that NAB during 2015 has taken following efforts under its Awareness and Prevention Campaign on
“SAY NO TO CORRUPTION” across the country. The detail is as. Due to NAB’s efforts, on all ATM machines of all scheduled Banks carry NAB’s message “Say No to Corruption”
in Urdu and English across the country.b. NAB and Higher Education Commission (HEC) have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for creating
awareness amongst students of various Universities. Due to this collaboration, more than 42 thousands Character Building Societies have been
established in various Universities and Colleges across the country.
c. NAB, SNGPL, IESCO, LESCO, GEPCO, FESCO and K-Electric join hands to print NAB message on “Say No to Corruption” from their platform on
electricity and Gas bills.
d. NAB, in collaboration with Pakistan Post, has specially designed an formally issued a commemorative stamp with slogan “Say No to Corruption” to
mark the World Anti-Corruption Day which an historic achievement.
e. NAB, in collaboration with Islamabad Traffic Police has started printing 2.4 million NAB message “Say No to Corruption” on all driving licenses.
f. NAB in Collaboration with Pakistan Film Censor Board is airing NAB’s video message on “Say No to Corruption” in all Cinema Houses of
the country.
q. NAB message “Say No to Corruption” is being printed on all government tenders issued for publication on
all newspapers in Balochistan and GilgitBaltistan.
Mr. Qamar Zaman Chaudhry Chairman NAB said that NAB is committed to eradicate corruption from the
country by adopting Zero Tolerance Policy. He said that NAB’s Anti-corruption Strategy especially Awareness and
Prevention campaign is carried widely besides enforcement during 2015 which will continue in year 2016 with full
swing. He said that NAB hopes that joint efforts of all stakeholders can collaborate to check corruption and
corrupt practices before happening with the help of all stakeholders, civil society, media and people at large.
