Peshawar(PR):As per notified shooting policy of the Wildlife Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Partridges shooting season 2016-17 will start in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa w.e.f Sunday the 20th November 2016 and will continue till 5th February 2017. During the season, partridge shooting will be subject to the following conditions:
Hunting shall not be allowed in protected area except Game Reserves, Private Game Reserves and Community Game Reserves, hunting will be permissible only on Sunday and gazetted holidays under a valid shooting license, hunting in game reserve will be permissible only under a special shooting permit to be issued by the Chief Conservator Wildlife, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar, maximum bag limit shall not exceed five birds of all partridge species per gun per day. Besides compensation, Rs. 1,200/- (rupees twelve hundred) will be charged for each animal shot in excess to bag limit as value of property. Maximum two hunting party (not more than five guns in a party) shall be allowed in a game reserve/unit on a single hunting day, hunting in community Game Reserve will be permissible only after due consent of the concerned Village Conservation Committee (VCC), hunting in Private Game Reserves will be permissible only after due consent of the concerned owner of the Private Game Reserves, using of retrieving dog will be permissible only on a valid possession license, use of Automatic weapons including repeater short gun for shooting is strictly prohibited.
The following fee will be charged for various Licenses/Special permits during 2016-17 shooting season until revised otherwise.
Small Game Shooting License Rs.2000/-per annum, Special permit of shooting for shooting in a game reserve Rs. 3000/- per day and Possession License for dog Rs. 1000/- annum.
Other conditions will remain the same as mentioned in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife and Biodiversity (Protection, Preservation, Conservation & management) Act, 2015 and the shooting policy made there under, says a press release issued by Divisional Forest Officer Extension Wildlife Division Peshawar.
