Forest XI team wins Twenty20 Cricket title of Floodlight Ramadan Games

Forest XI team lifted the trophy after defeating Legend XI team by 30 runs in the Twenty20 Cricket final part of the ongoing Ramadan Floodlight Games at Abbottabad Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Forest XI team skipper won the toss and elected to bat first by setting up 106 runs for the loss of eight wickets after playing the allotted 30 overs. In reply to 106 runs target, the Legend XI team bundled out for 78 runs. Riaz Khan was declared as best bowler of the tournament besides Man of the Series award as well.

Earlier, in the semi-final Hills Legend XI team won the toss and decided to bat first by setting up a mearger 52 runs target after playing just 8 overs and in reply Legend XI chased the target in four overs and for the loss of one wicket and won the match by nine wickets.

In the second semi-final Forest XI team while batting first scored 88 runs for the loss of eight wickets and in reply Centurians Club bundled out for 74 runs and thus Forest XI team won the match by 14 runs.

At the end, the chief guest Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Aamir Afaq was the chief guest and the players of both finalists were introduced to him. Former Director Sports Directorate of Sports KP Tariq Mehmood, Regional Sports Officer Syed Saqlain Shah, Office-bearers of the Abbottabad Press Club and Abbottabad Union of Journalists were also present.

Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Aamir Afaq lauded the Directorate of Sports General KP for organizing different sports events in all across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and merged tribal districts during the Holy Month of Ramadan. He said it is good that the youth have been involved in healthy sports activities. He said through such like activities it would be help in searching out new talent during the Games besides keeping other in form even during the Holy month of Ramadan.

At the end, the chief guest gave away trophies and cash prizes to the winners and runners-up.
