Sports Board Academy team clinched the trophy after defeating King Star club in the final of the football event part of the ongoing Ramadan Floodlight Games played here at Tehmas Khan Football Stadium on Monday.
Regional Sports Officer Peshawar Jamshed Baloch was the chief guest on this occasion. Director Games Zakir Ullah, President Peshawar District Football Association Haji Hidayat Ullah, Secretary KP Football Association Basit Kamal, organizing secretary Faisal Javed and large number of players and spectators were also present.
The final match was started on fast tempo and both Sports Board Academy team coach and training by Faisal Javed and Abdul Shakoor Khan, the two football coaches of Directorate of Sports KP, took the lead in the 13th minute Kamran slammed in a beautiful goal to make the tally 1-0.
On the other hands King Stars tried their hard to level the tally and this was Hassan who succeeded in leveling the tally through Hassan on the field attempt. When both the teams tied 1-1, they raided on each other territories. Both Sports Board Academy team and King Stars were tied 1-1 at half-time.
It was in the second session in which Sports Board Academy team kept up pressure and succeeded in scoring another goal to make the tally 2-1 and thus won the match. A total of 16 teams took part in the tournament organized in connection with the going Ramadan Floodlight Games at Tehmas Khan Football Stadium.
At the end, the chief guest gave away trophies and cash prizes to the winners and runners-up.
