First review of Pakistan under IMF program to be conducted in December

First review of Pakistan under IMF Program will take place in the month of December. IMF representative in Pakistan has said first review of Pakistan under loan program will be carried out in the month of December while review will be conducted on quarterly basis.
She said Pakistan performance will be reviewed in the review program and major economic targets and financial matters will come under consideration. She held that IMF has approved loan amounting to 6 billion dollars under extended fund facility for Pakistan.
This program spans 39 months.
IMF program includes certain conditionalities including rupee value, interest rate, state bank autonomy and privatization.
IMF Mission chief had said that IMF program real objective was to restore balance in Pakistan economy. This program will prove helpful in the incumbent government policies.
Mission chief had said that the program comprises tow vital pillars. First pillar is resolution of problems and second is revamping of institutions. The major problem facing Pakistan economy are balance of internal and external payments, repayment of loans and other financial matters.
