One more Polio case has surfaced in Lakki Marawt (KPK).
According to Health Department victim girl was not administered Polio drops, Total Polio cases all over the province (KPK) reached 45.
Polio effected girl is 5 years old. Her tests were sent to National Institute of Health Islamabad where Polio virus has been detected. Earlier two cases were also reported from Lakki Marwa while Bannu division is most affected area where 30 polio cases have been registered.
CM KPK Mahmood Khan has removed district health officers of Bannu and Lakki Marwat from their posts due to bad performance regarding polio. Polio cases from other districts of KPK have also been reported including 1 from Shangla, 1 from DI khan, 5 from Toorghar, 2 from Hango and 1 from charsadda while some cases of poliohave been also reported from some district of erstwhile FATA including 1 from Khyber, 1 from Bajaur, and 8 from north Waziristan.
According to Emergency operation center coordinator Kamran Ahmad Afridi that most of parents refuses to administer polio drops to their children while polio vaccine is safe at all cost.
