Sydney Test
SYDNEY
3rd and final Test against Australia in Sydney started with the brilliant performance of Pakistan fast bowler Amir Jamal who showed his skills with the bat and played an important innings of 82 runs.
Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first. The men in green got off to a terrible start as both the openers were sent back to the pavilion without scoring a run.
Pakistan’s counter-attack was led by a solid innings from Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha, preceded by a partnership between Amir Jamal and Mir Hamza. His brilliant partnership of 86 runs for the 10th wicket helped Pakistan cross the 300-run mark. The two combined for the 10th-highest wicket-take by any visiting team in Australia in the last 38 years.
Aamir Jamal’s innings of 82 was particularly noteworthy, as he became the first Pakistani player to take five wickets and score more than fifty runs in his first series. Hamza faced 43 balls, spent time in the middle and scored 7 runs while remaining not out. Day 2 resumes tomorrow with Australia at 6/0 facing an over from off-spinner Sajid Khan.
