Chief Executive of the Abaseen Foundation Pakistan Professor Dr Mukhtiar Zaman has announced the inauguration of the Abaseen Foundation Degree College in Shamshatoo village Peshawar. According to a statement issued here the college, which will eventually become Abaseen Foundation University, is the first of its kind to be established in the remote part of the provincial capital.
The Abaseen Foundation UK and Pakistan, partners in supporting rural communities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, have provided education, healthcare, and humanitarian relief for over 20 years, the statement said.
Dr Zaman credited the college’s development to the generous donation of Dr Qadir Bakhsh MBE and Mrs Rukhsana Bakhsh, longstanding supporters of the Foundation’s work.
During the inauguration, Mrs. Rukhsana Bakhsh praised the Foundation’s comprehensive approach to community development, highlighting its focus on education, health, and welfare for the people of Shamshatoo.
She expressed her pride in the Foundation’s vision of bringing higher education to the doorstep of Shamshatoo’s children, especially girls, and encouraged emulating this model across Pakistan.
Helen Bingley, OBE, Chief Executive of the Abaseen Foundation UK, thanked the Bakhsh family for their contributions and recognized the volunteers and donors who have made these initiatives possible. She also noted the Foundation’s prestigious recognition, including the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2018.
The Abaseen Foundation’s work continues to transform the lives of those in rural Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, helping them break the cycle of poverty and build a brighter future.
