Assistant Commissioner Paharpur, Dr Hamid Sadeeq held a progress review meeting in his office with the In-charge of Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital Paharpur to assess the availability and quality of medical services being provided to patients.
During the meeting, the Assistant Commissioner expressed serious dissatisfaction over the hospital’s service delivery and issued strict instructions for immediate and tangible improvements.
He made it clear that all doctors and paramedical staff must strictly adhere to official duty timings and ensure biometric attendance under all circumstances.
He warned that any staff member found absent or negligent in duties, as reflected in biometric records, would face immediate departmental action, and a formal report would be submitted to the relevant authorities.
The meeting was informed that an X-ray machine has already been donated by the former Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and is being handed over to the hospital. The District Health Officer (DHO) will formally call a repair team to ensure the machine is made functional at the earliest, with measures to prevent future technical faults.
The Assistant Commissioner also directed that general ultrasound services for male patients be made operational without delay. Furthermore, he ordered the complete restoration of the operation theatre, directing that it be fully functional within three days.
For this purpose, hospital management has been instructed to submit, within 24 hours, a comprehensive list of required staff, equipment and essential items needed for the operation theatre’s revival.
Emphasising patient welfare, Dr Hamid stressed that the availability of medicines in the hospital must be ensured at all costs. He directed that a formal demand for required funds be sent to the concerned department, adding that the supply of medicines would be ensured under the personal supervision of the Assistant Commissioner’s office.
The In-charge THQ Hospital has been given a deadline ranging from 24 hours to three days to comply with all directives. A formal monitoring visit will be conducted thereafter to review progress and ensure strict implementation of the issued instructions.
