Action against smoke-emitting vehicles intensified in Peshawar. Shinwari

City Traffic Police Peshawar and provincial transport department on Thursday launched a comprehensive operation against smoke emitting vehicles, said a handout.
The statement said that the vehicle emitting testing service of the transport department has taken action against 60 transporters.
The operations were carried out by SP Traffic Headquarters and Education Shazia Shahid and the team of transport department on the special instructions of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Qamar Hayat Khan.
During the blockade on GT Road, the fitness certificates of the vehicles were checked and the fitness of the vehicles was checked using a special machine.
Action was taken against the owners of 60 vehicles causing pollution, many vehicles were stopped in the terminal.
Six month fitness certificates were also issued on the spot to the owners of the vehicles which were not causing pollution.
City Traffic Police Peshawar will not be lenient with the transporters who do not have fitness certificates, said CTO Qamar Hayat Khan.
