Local administration in tehsil Landi Kotal asked Afghan citizens, illegally residing in the area, to return Afghanistan willingly.
As per Anjuman-e-Tajran Landi Kotal former President Jafer Shinwari more than 1700 Afghani shopkeepers, handcart holders and other make shifts had been filed in the bazaar.
Additional Assistant Commissioner, Landi Kotal Shahabuddin flanked by tehsildar, Landi Kotal and other officials visited Landi Kotal bazaar last day where he directed the Afghan shopkeepers and traders, unlawfully carried out their businesses to repatriate to their motherland.
Deadline given to the illegal Afghanis had expired therefore those Afghan nationals, doing their businesses in Landi Kotal bazaar without legal travelling documents should return to Afghanistan, he warned.
He stated that legal action would be taken against those refusing the order.
It is worth mentioning here that in the first phase of illegal Afghan citizens began in 2023 that was followed by the return of Afghan Citizens Card (ACC) in April 2025.
In phase three Afghanis with Proof of Registration (PoR) card holders were asked to repatriate after the card expired on June 30, 2025.
