A large-scale registration campaign under the “Imran Khan Release Peace Movement” was formally launched in Kohat on Sunday, drawing significant participation from party workers and local residents who pledged support for their leader.
The campaign, initiated in PK-90 constituency, was launched on the directives of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Khan Afridi, aiming to raise public awareness and organize peaceful political and constitutional demands at the grassroots level.
The ceremony took place in Gumbat Bazaar, where Provincial Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Aftab Alam, alongside former Tehsil Chairman Gumbat Sajid Iqbal, inaugurated the registration camp. Both leaders registered themselves as workers to mark the formal start of the drive.
Following the inauguration, a large number of attendees, including party workers and local citizens, registered for the movement, chanting slogans and expressing strong allegiance to former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Addressing the gathering, the leaders said the initiative represents not just a political activity but a structured and peaceful struggle aimed at promoting public awareness, constitutional supremacy and democratic values.
They emphasized that the campaign seeks to mobilize maximum public participation to build a unified and effective voice.
“The enthusiasm and turnout reflect the public’s determination to continue a peaceful struggle for their rights and for the release of their leader,” they added.
Local elders, party officials and youth were also present in large numbers, vowing to make the campaign a success.
