PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) Central President Senator Aimal Wali Khan has said that the departure of Samar Haroon Bilour from the party is not surprising, as many colleagues had already anticipated this move. In a statement issued from Bacha Khan Markaz, Peshawar, Aimal Wali Khan remarked that if Samar Haroon Bilour holds a National Assembly seat today, it is due to the sacrifices of Shaheed Bashir Ahmed Bilour and Shaheed Haroon Ahmed Bilour. He emphasized that the Bilour family’s political contributions, particularly those of Alhaj Ghulam Ahmed Bilour over the past six decades, are well known and respected. He expressed regret that the recent decision, attributed to Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, does not reflect his own will, but rather the influence of individuals like Irfanullah Marwat—whom Aimal criticized as lacking both political ideology and influence. “This is not a heavy day for me,” he said, “The real burden was the day I carried the coffins of Shaheed Bashir Bilour and Shaheed Haroon Bilour. Their sacrifices, vision, and unwavering commitment remain the true strength of the ANP.” He urged party workers to remain steadfast and not lose hope. “When one door closes, nature opens many others. We will soon share encouraging news regarding Peshawar,” he added. DLP Report
