A ceremony was organized by Al-Khidmat Foundation Gujrat for the distribution of Qarz-e-Hasna (interest-free loan) cheques among deserving individuals to support small businesses and promote self-employment.
The event was attended by Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Punjab, Dr. Tariq Saleem, as the chief guest. On the occasion, Chaudhry Ansar Mahmood, Khalid Mahmood Saqib, and Chaudhry Naeem Shahbaz were also present.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Tariq Saleem said that Al-Khidmat Foundation is not only at the forefront of welfare activities but is also taking practical steps to create employment opportunities.
He stated that through the Qarz-e-Hasna scheme, interest-free financial assistance is being provided to small entrepreneurs, enabling them to start or expand their businesses and achieve financial independence.
He described Al-Khidmat Foundation as a leading non-profit organization in Pakistan that has played a significant role in empowering underprivileged segments of society through various initiatives, particularly its Islamic microfinance programs.
He noted that thousands of families have become self-reliant through these programs by launching their own small businesses. Dr. Tariq Saleem highlighted that a substantial number of beneficiaries of these initiatives are women, who have been supported in improving their economic conditions and contributing to household incomes.
He emphasized that Al-Khidmat’s microfinance model is based on the principles of Islamic finance, ensuring that assistance is provided without interest and in a socially responsible manner. He concluded by stating that such initiatives are essential for uplifting economically weaker sections of society and promoting dignity, self-reliance, and sustainable livelihoods.
