ISLAMABAD
Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan on Friday visited the Turkish Embassy to express profound grief and offer condolences over the tragic school shooting incidents in the Turkish provinces of Sanliurfa and Kahramanmaras that claimed several lives.
During the visit, the minister met with Turkish Ambassador Dr. Irfan Neziroglu and conveyed that the entire Pakistani nation stands in unwavering solidarity with their Turkish brothers in this hour of immense sorrow.
He described the act of targeting innocent children as an extremely brutal and barbaric deed that defies humanity, said a press release.
During the conversation, Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized that addressing psychological issues and implementing measures to prevent gun violence must be a collective priority.
Both leaders reached a consensus that a strong and stable family system plays a vital role in preventing such tragic occurrences in society.
The minister further remarked that Türkiye and Pakistan are like “one soul in two bodies,” sharing each other’s joys and sorrows as inseparable partners.
He offered special prayers for the deceased, requesting that Allah Almighty grant the bereaved families courage and patience, and wished for the swift and complete recovery of those injured in the incidents.
On the occasion, Ambassador Dr. Irfan Neziroglu thanked the minister for his visit and appreciated the solidarity extended by the people of Pakistan.
The two sides also exchanged views on the prevailing regional situation and common challenges faced by both countries.
