Secretary/Chief Administrator Auqaf Punjab Dr. Ehsan Bhutta has said that all ongoing development, expansion, renovation and beautification works at the historic shrine of Hazrat Ali Hajveri, popularly known as Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA), will be completed in all respects before next year’s Urs, ensuring that millions of devotees and spiritual seekers arriving from across Pakistan and abroad are welcomed with modern, dignified, safe and comprehensive facilities befitting the sanctity of the sacred shrine.
He expressed these views while conducting a detailed inspection of the ongoing development projects at Data Darbar and its adjoining areas, where he reviewed the pace, quality and overall progress of the works and directed the concerned authorities to maintain the highest standards of workmanship while accelerating the pace of construction.
Dr. Ehsan Bhutta said that the Punjab Government attaches the highest priority to the comfort and facilitation of devotees and is utilizing all available resources to transform Data Darbar into a modern and exemplary shrine, offering visitors not only an atmosphere of spiritual peace and reverence but also improved arrangements for movement, cleanliness, security, parking and other essential amenities; he emphasized that no compromise would be made on the quality or timely completion of the projects, particularly in view of the large number of devotees who visit the shrine throughout the year and especially during the annual Urs.
The inspection team included NESPAK Chief Engineer Muhammad Nadeem, Senior Architect Ali Jan, TEPA Project Director Muhammad Asad, C&W XEN Fahad Naveed, Auqaf Director Projects Rafiq Noor Wattoo, Administrator Muhammad Ali Khan, Manager Gohar Mustafa, SDO Electrical Rana Zohaib and other officials; the delegation also paid their respects at the sacred shrine, laid a chadar, offered Fateha and prayed for the peace, security, prosperity and progress of Pakistan and the well-being of its people.
Later, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta visited Sharqpur Sharif, where he paid his respects at the shrine in connection with the annual Urs celebrations that commenced the previous day, laid a chadar and offered special prayers; he was accompanied by the Sajjada Nashin of Sharqpur Sharif, Director Projects Rafiq Noor Wattoo, Administrator Rana Ehsan, Auqaf Manager and other concerned officials.
Concluding his visit, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta also inspected the city’s historic mosque, which has been beautifully restored and modernized with the valuable cooperation of the Sharqpuri family; the management thanked the Secretary Auqaf and briefed him in detail on the historical significance and restoration of the mosque, while Director Projects Rafiq Noor Wattoo apprised him of the progress of the remaining works and assured that all outstanding works would be completed within the next two months.
