PESHAWAR
A delegation of the Muttahida Aman (peace) Committee, led by Maulana Hussain Ahmed Madani, visited the office of the newly appointed SP City Peshawar, Atiq Shah Khan, to congratulate him on assuming his new role.
The meeting was attended by senior police officials including DSP City, DSP Subrab, and DSP Hashtangri. Prominent members of the Aman Committee—Haji Farhad Ahmed Saraf, Haji Tahir Khan, Shahid Zaman Yousafzai, Haji Abdul Wahab, Ahmed Ali Madani, and others—were also present.
Hussain Ahmed Madani lauded SP Atiq Shah Khan for his commendable performance in previous postings and praised his dedication to maintaining peace and stability in the city.
He reaffirmed the Committee’s continued commitment to fostering communal harmony and supporting law enforcement efforts in Peshawar.
SP City Atiq Shah Khan expressed appreciation for the Committee’s contributions and reiterated the police’s resolve to maintain law and order. “Preserving peace is our foremost priority,” he said, “and sustainable peace cannot be achieved without the active cooperation of the public and all segments of society.”
He emphasized the crucial role of organizations like the Muttahida Aman Committee in promoting interfaith harmony, tolerance, and unity.
He also highlighted the importance of continued engagement between the police and the community to strengthen mutual trust.
