The provincial president of Awami National Party (ANP) Mian Iftikhar Hussain on Sunday strongly condemned the recent terrorist attacks on police personnel in Tank and Lakki Marwat.
In a statement issued from the party’s headquarters Bacha Khan Markaz, ANP leader expressed grief over the martyrdom of six policemen in Tank and the serious injuries sustained by officers in Lakki Marwat, urging the provincial government to take immediate and effective action to combat terrorism.
In the statement, he expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of life and offered full solidarity to the grieving families of the martyrs.
“The martyrdom of our brave police officers is a testament to their sacrifices for the peace of this land. However, the provincial government’s indifference and inaction in the face of rising terrorism are deeply concerning,” Hussain said.
He stressed that KP was once again being gripped by terrorism, yet the provincial government remained silent, displaying what he described as “criminal negligence.”
Hussain called on provincial leaders to shift their focus from other regions and address the escalating security challenges in KP.
“The provincial government must adopt a clear and effective strategy to combat terrorism, or else the situation will only worsen,” he warned.
ANP has always stood at the forefront in the fight against terrorism, Hussain urged the provincial government to fulfill its constitutional and moral responsibilities and take immediate action to ensure the safety of the people and security forces.
