Awami National Party (ANP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa General Secretary Hussain Shah Yousafzai has demanded the immediate release of investigation reports into alleged merit violations in public sector universities, expressing concern over delays in completing inquiries.
He alleged that corruption, nepotism and lack of transparency had become widespread in the provincial government system, claiming that irregularities in government jobs and transfers were being reported openly.
Yousafzai said fact-finding committees were formed on Feb 22, 2026, to investigate alleged merit violations in nine public universities, including the University of Haripur, with instructions to submit reports within 10 days. However, he said more than five months had passed and the complete findings had not been made public.
He questioned why candidates with higher merit were allegedly ignored in favour of lower-ranked applicants and demanded clarification over allegations of manipulation through interview marks.
The ANP leader said continued silence on the matter was creating doubts and demanded that all inquiry reports be made public, those responsible for proven irregularities be held accountable, and affected candidates be provided justice according to law and merit.
