ANP raises concern on growing incidents of terrorism

Party decided to stage a peace march on Nov 4 in KP

The provincial president of Awami National Party (ANP) Amil Wali Khan has expressed serious concerned over the regrouping of terrorists organization and the rise in incidents of extortion and target killing across the province, saying public in Swat were facing serious threats but the provincial government denying the facts.
Speaking at a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club here on Tuesday, ANP provincial president announced November 4 as data for a peace march in the province.
Central Secretary Foreign Affairs Syed Aqil Shah, Provincial Spokesperson Samar Haroon Bilor, Secretary Youth Affairs Advocate Sana Gulzar and President ANP UK Mahfouz Jan were also present on the occasion.
“A peace march has been decided on the motorway interchange. On Friday, those who want peace will gather under the white flag and together raise their voice for peace,” he added.
Aimal Wali Khan asked people to ensure their participation in the march as it would be staged to reject the new waves of terrorism in KP. He said that once again the incidents of target killing, extortion and kidnapping for ransom are happening in Pakhtunkhwa.
The new wave of terrorist attacks is gaining momentum.
ANP leader alleged the provincial government ministers and government officials for providing financial support in the form of bribes.
To a question he said that ANP was not against negotiations with Taliban, but the method being adopted for negotiations was not acceptable.
He also criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan for staging an anti-government march and threatening government institutions.
Aimal Wali maintained that a clear law and procedure should be made for determining the heads of institutions.
He said that the peace march would be held peacefully, adding that the provincial government should play its due role in maintaining law and order situation in Swat and other areas.
ANP has always supported those who played a sincere role in the establishment of peace in the region; he added and said that peace in the province should not be politicized as it’s a matter of generations to come.
