ISLAMABAD
Awami National Party (ANP) Central President and Senator Aimal Wali Khan has submitted an adjournment motion in the Senate concerning the tragic incident that occurred on September 21 in Tirah tehsil of Khyber district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
A statement issued here stated that the motion highlights that dozens of local residents lost their lives and many others were injured in the incident. Referring to accounts from the local population, Senator Khan stated that the tragedy was not an act of terrorism but allegedly the result of a drone strike, reportedly carried out by the army, in which unarmed civilians were targeted.
Senator Khan expressed grave concern over the incident, stating that such actions not only result in the loss of innocent lives but also fuel public anger and deepen anxiety within the affected communities.
He called for an immediate discussion of the matter in the Upper House to ensure that the facts are brought to light and those responsible are held accountable.
Khan further emphasized that the people of the former tribal areas have long endured the consequences of terrorism and military operations. He warned that further incidents of this nature risk worsening their plight and eroding their already fragile trust in the state.
