PESHAWAR
Awami National Party (ANP) on Thursday submitted a resolution in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly seeking federal government intervention for provision of facilitation to labor community working in various foreign countries, especially those working on labor visas in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
The resolution was submitted by ANP woman lawmaker Shagufta Malik here on Thursday.
She stated that a large number of Pakistanis are working in Saudia Arabia in the capacity of labour, however, they have no access to certain facilities that generally provide embassies.
Pakistani workers living in Saudi Arabia and other countries were facing severe hardships and difficulties, especially the families of those who died while working suffering from mental agony, Shaughta Malik clarified in the resolution.
“The Kingdom hospitals demand more than 6,000 Riyals for handing over a dead body from hospital which the labour class dose not afford,” she added and demanded from federal government to provide access to Pakistani labours in foreign countries and address their problems.
ANP Shagufta Malik said that the federal government should take this issue seriously and discuss with the Saudi government and authorities.
The government and foreign offices should also be directed to provide their facilitations to Pakistani workers in foreign countries.
