FIR against opposition registered for holding Nov 22 Peshawar power show

Awami National Party (ANP) has condemned registration of FIR by the police against the leaders of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and decided to hold a demonstration protest outside Peshawar Press Club here on Tuesday (Today).
ANP provincial president Aimal Wali in a statement said that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leadership holds public meetings across the country without taking care of coronavirus but all its restriction reserved for the opposition alliance PDM. He said the FIR has been registered by police on the order of the provincial government as its using police for serving its political motives.
Talking to Twitter Aimal Wali said that “The PDM rejects the FIR registered against the leaders of Peshawar district by the ruling party.
ANP workers will protest against fake FIR in front of Peshawar Press Club (PPC) at 11 am on Tuesday.”
Despite the district administration ban, PDM held a large public meeting in the provincial capital on November 22 which led the Peshawar police to register an FIR against the presidents of five constituent parties of PDM for spreading the coronavirus.
According to the FIR that on November 20, the deputy commissioner of Peshawar rejected the request of opposition parties for holding the public meeting in the city, however, those office-bearers of the opposition went ahead with their gathering and endangered the lives of People.
The FIR was registered at Paharipura police station under Section 188 of Pakistan Penal Code, 15 Arms Act and Section 17 of KP Epidemic Control and Emergency Relief Act 2020. District leaders of JUI-F, QWP, PML-N, PPP and ANP have been booked in the FIR.
Sardar Hussain Babak, provincial general secretary of the ANP said that thousands of people will take part in the protest against the registration of FIR. He said that the government took revenge from the opposition on the name Covid-19 SOPs and had made the life of everyone difficult.
He said the government came with tactics to suppress its opponents by lodging cases against them and book them.
The provincial president asked the party workers to reach PPC before 11 A.M, adding that its party workers are always ready to achieve their constitutional and human rights.
He said that ANP fight for civil rights considers it his political duty and tomorrow the whole world will see that the people will fulfill their national duty by reaching in front of PPC.
