Federal government employees Housing Authority, FGEHA carried out an anti-encroachment drive in the G13 and G14 sectors of Islamabad on the 20th and 21 February 2024.
According to sources, the drive was conducted under the supervision of Muhammad Dawood Kakar, Assistant Director and Sohail Asghar Deputy Assistant Director Enforcement Wing, FGEHA, on the instructions of the Director Enforcement and Vigilance FGEHA.
Operations began from Punjab market (G13/4) where numerous public complaints were received against hotel owners who had allegedly put out chairs and tables in the parking lot reserved for the vehicles. Swift action was taken against encroachers and the parking and corridors were cleared from encroachment.
Dining tables, chairs, and other materials were also confiscated. The Authority claimed that it had issued an advance notice to the owner of the hotels to remove an encroachment from the parking.
The enforcement squad also stopped illegal construction work at G14 and the G13 sector, which were found in violation of the approved building plan.
The materials were confiscated as well. Furthermore, illegal water bores were stopped along the footpaths and debris was removed from the footpath at G14 sector. Another attempt of the mafia was spoiled by the guards as some tractors were taking soil from outside sectors of FGEHA as it is strictly prohibited.
The drivers were fined and warned not to indulge in such activities in the future. Residents of G13 and G14 sectors of Islamabad appreciated FGEHA’s swift action against encroachments.
Citizens stated the drive be taken to its logical conclusion to purge the violators once and for all and prevent the re-emergence of encroachments.
