Anti-polio drive in Punjab, Balochistan & Sindh to start today

Wide-ranging anti-polio vaccination drive in 11 districts of Punjab, 16 districts of Balochistan and 22 districts of Sindh will started from Monday.
As many as 17,000 polio vaccination teams have been constituted to administer polio drops to around 10 million children in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Multan, Muzaffargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, Rahimyar Khan and Rajanpur, informed spokesperson of the Punjab Health Department on Sunday.
According to Coordinator Emergency Operation Centre Balochistan Rashid Razzaq, during the drive more than 1.6 million children up to five years of age would be administered anti-polio drops and 7192 teams have been constituted to administer the drops to the children during door to door drive.
In Sindh, 50,000 polio workers in 22 districts will administer polio drops to around 7.4 million children with special focus on Karachi.
Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah directed the deputy commissioners to achieve the 100 per cent target of the polio campaign.
Meanwhile, seven-day anti-polio vaccination campaign is underway in Peshawar.
According to district administration over 742376 children will be administered polio drops across the district by over two thousand teams.
Strict security measures have also been made for the security of polio vaccination teams.
