ISLAMABAD: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has called on the international community to take urgent action to address the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), saying that continued silence over alleged human rights violations was encouraging further oppression. In a statement issued here on Thursday, the APHC said the people of Kashmir had been facing injustice, discrimination and repression for nearly eight decades under Indian rule. It said the fundamental rights and freedoms of Kashmiris remained denied and stressed that their struggle for freedom would not be silenced. The APHC urged the international community to play its role in ensuring a just and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the right to self-determination.
