ISLAMABAD: An appeal was filed in the Supreme Court (SC) on Friday against the apex court’s decision in the case of amendments made to the National Accountability Ordinance (NAO), 1999. In the appeal filed by Advocate Farooq H. Naek on behalf of Abdul Jabbar, it was stated that the SC gave its decision in the case without listening to the appellant. The petitioner said that there was no mention of any violation of a human right in the petition filed against the NAB amendments. “Therefore, it is prayed to the apex court to declare its own verdict dated September 15, 2023 null and void,” the petition said. Accepting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s petition, the Supreme Court (SC) had around a month ago, on September 15, declared the amendments made to the NAO, 1999 null and void.
