Arrangements for by-polls in NA-45 Kurram reviewed

An important meeting held here on Thursday with the Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash in the chair, reviewed security and other necessary arrangements for by-polls in NA-45 Kurram, said a handout.
The meeting was attended by provincial election commissioner Shamshad Khan, Inspector General of Police, Secretary Local government, Additional Secretary Home, 11 Corps representative, Additional IG Operations and others.
Commissioner Kohat division, Deputy Commissioner Kurram, and District Police Officer (DPO) Kurram attended the meeting via online facility.
KP’s election commissioner Shamshad Khan said that the by-polls had been scheduled to be held on October 30, adding that concerned departments should finalise their necessary arrangements for peaceful election in the constituency.
“Fool-proof arrangements should be made for the by-election of NA-45 Karam, so that the voters can cast their votes without fear and risk,” he added.
The forum was briefed about the security arrangements and other arrangements were reviewed, the meeting was told that all the preparations for the by-elections of NA 45 Karam have been finalized.
Police, Frontier Corps and Pakistan Army will perform security duties.
It was informed that 24 polling stations have been declared sensitive and 119 polling stations have been declared more sensitive.
Adequate arrangements have been made, CCTV cameras are being installed, polling staff deployment has been completed.
The provincial election commissioner expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements, and emphasized that all arrangements should be made for the completion of the by-elections to be held on 30 October 2022 in a peaceful, free and impartial manner.
