ISLAMABAD
Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Islamabad has issued arrest warrants of absenting workers of PTI. Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra of ATC Islamabad took up May 9 protest and other cases against Imran Khan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and other workers of PTI for hearing Wednesday. Sardar Muhammad Masroof Khan advocate, Murtaza Toori and others appeared on behalf of the accused in the court. The hearing could not move forward due to non availability of Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case after marking attendance of the accused who appeared therein .
The court issued arrest warrants of absenting workers of PTI.
The defence counsel took the plea PTI founder is not available and due to it case cannot move forward. Workers come from remote areas. The workers who come from remote areas be exempted from attendance.
The court remarked Supreme Court (SC) has issued directives with reference to May 9 cases and SC directives are meant for this case as well.
The defence counsel said SC directives are restricted to the extent of Punjab.
The court adjourned till May 9 the hearing of the three cases.
It is pertinent to mention here case against PTI workers is registered in police station Shams Colony and cases related to March 2023 protest are registered in police station Khanna.
