Arrival and departure of people make no difference, the institutions should not be denigrated: SC

ISLAMABAD, Jan 28 (Online): The Supreme Court (SC) has directed Islamabad and Karachi Bar Councils to amend their appeal pleas while hearing the appeal pleas against the dismissal of former judge Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui.

A five members bench of SC presided over by Justice Umar Ata Bandial took up the case for hearing Thursday.

Advocate Salah ud Din argued during the hearing of the case Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui leveled 9 allegations. These should be probed into. These allegations created negative impression among the people about interference of institutions in the judiciary.

Justice Umar Ata Bandial remarked prosecution should use proper language whatever plea it has to take. The arrival and departure of persons make no difference. The institutions should not be denigrated. This country and its institutions have to stay for ever and have to flourish.

Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan remarked on one occasion while addressing lawyer Salah ud Din how will you improve people impression. Has any survey taken place that on the basis of its report you could make claim. You should talk to the extent which you could prove.

The court while directing Islamabad and Karachi bars to make amendments in their appeal pleas adjourned the hearing of the case for one month.

Notices have been issued to federation and attorney general as well in this regard.
