Awareness walk arranged in Tank on World Population Day

The Population Welfare Department, Tank arranged an awareness walk to mark the World Population Day, here on Thursday.
The walk was started from Deputy Commissioner Office which was participated by Additional Assistant Commissioner Jamshed Alam, Additional Assistant Commissioner Jandola Inaam Khan, District Population Welfare Officer Dr Muhammad Tariq, District Sports Officer Irfan Ullah and other officers and staffers of Population Welfare Department.
The participants were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans of importance of small family as well as problems of rapid increase in population.
Addressing the participants, Additional Assistant Commissioner Jamshed Alam and District Population Welfare Officer Dr Muhammad Tariq said that organizing this walk was aimed to create awareness among people that controlling the population was mandatory for a healthy society. Therefore, everyone should strive and play a role in overcoming the challenge of rampant population growth.
They said the public cooperation was mandatory to control rapid increase in population. Therefore, everyone should consciously follow the population welfare program to overcome the issues of education, health, poverty and unemployment.
At the end of the walk, the participants made this commitment that they will play their full role in spreading the message of World Population Day and controlling population.
