PESHAWAR
State Minister and acting President Pakistan People’s Party Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha on Saturday expressed serious concern over the violence situation and aggression incidents in universities.
In a statement issued here, he condemned teacher and supervisor killing in Peshawar and violence and harassment of students belonging to the Hindu community in the universities while celebrating Holi in Karachi and Punjab.
He said that there are religious freedoms so people who are related have choice to perform their religious rituals in the country.
He demanded the Vice Chancellors of the universities and other high authorities to take legal action against all the miscreants involved in these incidents and bring them to justice.
Minister of State Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha while condemning the killing of Security Supervisor of University of Peshawar Saqlain Bangash and Lecture Bashir by security guards said that legal action should be taken against them.
It is the responsibility of all of us to provide a peaceful educational environment for students to acquire knowledge.
Such incidents are having negative effects on the educational environment in the universities so the government and university management should take notice of the teachers and student organizations seriously, he added.
