Bangash for developing book reading habit among youth; Govt to digitalize libraries

The Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Science, Technology and Information Technology Kamran Bangash has said that promotion of books reading culture in young generation is more important
as it can play a vital role in knowledge gaining, character and personality building.
He added that provincial government would take steps to improve libraries in the province and provide it digital facilities so as to capable the masses in easy access to books.
He said this while addressing a ceremony regarding promotion of books culture on Wednesday at Archives Library in Peshawar. The ceremony was organized by National Youth Assembly, while provincial director National Book Foundation, Dr. Murad Ali Shah and others also spoke on this occasion.
Commissioner Peshawar Division Amjad Ali khan, other officers and members of Youth Assembly attended the ceremony.
He said book reading was main source of getting knowledge and awareness, therefore we should infuse the habits of book culture in our youth and children. Kamran revealed that in past he made efforts for establishing libraries in 350 schools at Peshawar which were extended to 12 Hundred schools later.
He said that in previous government, being a town member, he struggled to improve the books library in town 1 area of Peshawar.
He furthered that unfortunately in our young generation, habit of books reading was on decline thus the parents and teachers should play
active role to divert the attention of children towards book reading habits.
He called upon the Youth Assembly’s members to play active role in motivation of new generation for adoption of books reading habits.
During the ceremony, an 18 years young author Marwan gifted his English book to Kamran Bangash.
