PESHAWAR: The Bannu Police Peace Committee has announced the launch of an anti-terrorism operation titled “Intiqam-e-Shuhada” (Revenge for Martyrs) in response to rising security concerns in the district. The decision was made during a grand meeting of the Police Peace Committee held at the Police Lines in Bannu, where participants reviewed the overall law and order situation, counterterrorism efforts and the importance of public cooperation. Presiding over the meeting, Peace Committee Chairman Hazratullah stated that the sacrifices of police martyrs would not go unanswered and that operations would continue without interruption until peace is fully restored in the district. He warned that strict action would also be taken against facilitators and supporters of terrorists, adding that no leniency would be shown. He further stated that hujras and meeting places allegedly being used by militants would be reclaimed. Hazratullah emphasized that the Peace Committee would remain completely non-political and said citizens would be able to submit complaints regarding police matters directly to the committee. He also noted that individuals linked to terrorists would have to clarify their position. APP
