To discuss the issues of displacement and relocation of Internal Displaced People (IDPs) of Tirah Valley, a Khyber Qaumi Jirga was held here in Bara on Saturday.
Under the auspices of Bara Sayasi Ittehad (Political Alliance, Bara) , a large number of local leadership of various political parties, social organizations and people from the civil society were among the participants of the moot.
The speakers discussed every aspect of the displacement and rehabilitation of IDPs of Tirah Valley and announced the following declaration.
Counting demands of the political alliance, head of Bara Sayasi Ittehad Hashim Afridi urged the government to fulfill their following demands immediately.
(1) Residents of Tirah Valley, displaced previously by all forces operation should be relocated and ensure them all their basic rights, deprived them for the last several years.
(2) Abrupt peace should resume in Tirah Valley and ensure durable peace in future.
(3) Stop shelling on houses and avoid spreading fear among the residents of the valley.
(4) Tirah IDPs should be relocated and promises made with them should be recognized and materialized.
(5) The political alliance demanded fair inquiry of mismanagement, corruption, political interference and nepotism in Tirah IDPs registration and sought legal action against those found involved in it.
(6) Registration is the basic right of Tirah IDPs therefore the displaced people having prosperity in the Valley should be given status of IDPs and granted them all assistance.
(7) So called polio or NADRA base registration is unacceptable as it deprives genuine IDPs of their right of registration.
(8) Following disturbance in Tirah Valley, the security situation is in dilapidated condition in upper and down Bara, which needs to be restored in an emergency base.
(9) Bara Sayasi initiated the restoration of the peace movement in Bara to provide a secure atmosphere to the residents of the area.
(10)The government should fulfill its constitutional reasonableness by providing security from kidnappers and threat calls.
(11) The alliance expressed its deep concern over the blame game of the federal and provincial government and demanded them to jointly sort out a long-lasting solution to the problems of the IDPs, Tirah.
(12) If our legal, constitutional and moral demands are not recognized and implemented forthwith then the alliance with support of IDPs and people of Khyber will initiate agitation against the provincial and federal governments.
The Political Alliance Bara has stood stern with IDPs and has determined to utilize all forums to get rights for the IDPs of Tirah.
They threatened that if their demands are met, they will organize protests against the central government, in front of CM house and force officials offices with thirteen thousand registered IDPs vehicles.
