Beijing desires to increase Pak-China trade volume, FM Qureshi


Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has said that Beijing is ready to increase trade volume between Pakistan and China, he desired to increase the export of Pakistani rice and meat.
He was addressing a press conference along with Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Islamabad on the sidelines of OIC moot.
This is the first time that any Chinese Foreign Minister attended the OIC conference and addressed, said Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
“I am glad that Chinese Foreign Minister accepted my invitation and attended OIC conference, it is the affirmation of the significant nature of Pak-China all seasons strategic relations.” Said FM Qureshi.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi informed to media that a number of memorandums were also signed to increase mutual cooperation, and the regional challenges especially the emerging situation of Ukraine was also discussed between the two leaders.
FM Qureshi allueded that Extending the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) towards Afghanistan was also discussed, as it can increase the regional cooperation.
Strategies to combat terrorism were also discussed especially the role of terrorist groups East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM) and Tehreek Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was underlined and made consensus to jointly fight against ETIM and TTP.
