Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Senator Rubina Khalid on Thursday said the federal government was taking pragmatic steps to meet the global demand for skilled workers, adding that under the Benazir Hunarmand Program skill training to be provided to help deserving individuals become self-reliant.
She expressed these views while visiting the BISP offices in Bara, Jamrud, and Landi Kotal of Khyber district.
Senator Rubina Khalid during the visits reviewed field operations, met with deserving women, and directed officials to address their concerns.
She told reporters that BISP is one of Pakistan’s largest social safety programs, dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable families.
Under the directive of President Asif Ali Zardari, financial assistance is being disbursed transparently; she said and announced that from January 2025, the quarterly Kafaalat stipend for deserving women will increase from Rs 10,500 to Rs 13,500 to provide greater economic relief.
She reiterated that BISP field visits would continue to ensure smooth service delivery and emphasized the responsibility of staff to serve beneficiaries with honesty and integrity.
Addressing the staff, Chairperson BISP reminded them that serving the deserving is a great responsibility entrusted to them by Allah Almighty. She urged them to carry out their duties with honesty and integrity, ensuring that those in need do not face any difficulties in receiving their rightful support.
